The multimedia visual artist Jean Tansey explores social injustice in her art and her everyday life as a social worker. She investigates the human condition as a journalist transforming a canvas into a platform to create an awareness surrounding global issues of inequality, oppression, violence and environmental degradation. Tansey sources her material from political reports found in print and online media. Her art began with studies of the figure and the environment and has evolved into the figure’s lived experience in humanity.
